Meet our dental hygienist, Nicole! 🥳

Nicole has been apart of our Avanta family since September! She is a registered dental hygienist with over 10 years of experience in private practices.

Nicole is every patient’s favorite hygienist and is committed to helping her patients smile with confidence, while also teaching them the importance of making their oral health a priority!

She recently moved to Ellensburg with her husband and two boys from Montana to be closer to family. When she’s not working, Nicole enjoys being outdoors with her family; hiking 🥾 hunting 🦌 and enjoying nature 🍃

Meet one of our amazing dentists, Dr. Tina! 💕

Dr. Tina has been a part of our Avanta team for 6️⃣ years now!

Dr. Tina Amir completed her undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences before attending dental school at Nova Southeastern University, from which she graduated in 2018. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Washington Dental Association, and she completes additional training every six months to stay up-to-date with advances in the dental field.

🦷 Dr. Amir is committed to advancing her skills in the areas of restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and oral surgery to better serve her patients.

Kenya joined our team in July of 2022. She loves the work environment here at our office and how our team works together, as well as making sure all of her duties are taken care of! 👯‍♀️

Does your jaw lock or stray to one side when you open your mouth? These aches and pains are related to the joint in your jaw, called temporomandibular joint or better known as TMJ. TMJ is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull which plays a crucial role in talking, eating and even just opening your mouth.

Did you know 12 millions adults in the U.S. experience TMJ pain? You are not alone!

When there is an issue with your TMJ, it can lead to discomfort, pain and affect your everyday life. When this joint doesn’t function properly patients can experience clicking sound when chewing, headaches, and jaw pain. If left untreated, symptoms can escalate and make opening your mouth extremely difficult and painful. Although TMJ is manageable there are numerous factors that can cause your jaw to ache such as, illnesses in muscles and joints such as arthritis, grinding of teeth, anxiety and stress.

As we raise awareness this month, we want to remind our patients about maintaining and being aware of healthy jaw function. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms like jaw pain, headaches and clicking when opening and closing your mouth, we want to encourage you to call our office and schedule a consultation, we want to help relieve you of pain and discomfort!
