Sugary beverages are the leading source of added sugars in most people’s diets, and those who drink these often are more likely to experience health problems. These include cavities, heart disease, and even arthritis to name a few. Rethink your drinks by choosing healthier options such as water, low or fat-free milk, 100% juice, or even sparkling water. Your teeth will thank you! Contact us today at (304) 965-1200.

When was the last time you cleaned your toothbrush container? If it isn’t coming fresh to mind, it’s time to give that a good scrub! It not only holds your toothbrush, but it also holds onto many germs that are in your bathroom. Run it through your dishwasher or wash it in hot, soapy water once or twice a week.

Starting to brush from the back forward might help you clean those hard-to-reach places. Beginning your routine in the back of your mouth ensures you hit your back molars and all their nooks and crannies that make them susceptible to cavities and gum disease. Don’t skip a spot by keeping your brushing routine the same as you move along to other parts of your mouth.

To keep your smile in good condition, we always recommend a diet rich in tooth-friendly foods and beverages. Sticky foods and acidic drinks, such as soda, harm your enamel and promote bacteria growth in your mouth. Aside from following a balanced diet, remember to brush your teeth twice a day, floss every day, and go to your scheduled appointments. Contact us at (304) 965-1200.
