🦷 Meet Dr. Joyce, our visiting dentist!

Please help us welcome Dr. Joyce to Yadkin River Dental Spa! She’ll be helping care for our patients when Dr. K sets aside time to further her education and work on growing and improving our practice.

Dr. Joyce earned her dental degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she and Dr. K were classmates. Dr. K is happy to welcome a trusted colleague who shares her commitment to helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.

Dr. Joyce enjoys the variety dentistry offers, especially helping patients restore and maintain their teeth. She takes time to listen, understand each patient’s needs and goals, and explain treatment options so patients feel comfortable with their care.

Outside the office, she enjoys running, making smoothies, and traveling. 🏃‍♀️🍓✈️

No dental insurance? $250 new-patient special through Dec. 31
Regularly $422

Includes:

• New-patient exam
• Full-mouth X-rays (18 images) plus a panoramic X-ray
• A routine cleaning, if appropriate for your gum health*

*Periodontal cleaning is not included. Any additional treatment and costs will be discussed with you first.

Have dental insurance? We file claims with most insurance plans. We’re an out-of-network practice, and benefits vary by plan. The $250 special is for patients without dental insurance.

Thank you so much to all of our volunteers, partners and sponsors for your support to make the first Kate Butler Memorial Dental Clinic a success! With your help, we provided over $30,000 of life-changing dental care to local women who have experienced domestic violence and significant hardship.

Kate Butler was my best friend’s sister. She was taken from us too soon, but would have been so proud to see all the lives changed, dignity and hope restored.

I wish Kate could see what is happening in her name this Friday. ❤️

Kate Butler was my best friend’s sister— a brilliant, compassionate young woman, valedictorian at NC State University
She was a passionate advocate for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and vulnerable women and children.

She was taken from this world far too young.

Kate spent her life standing up for people who needed someone in their corner. And now, years later, our community is coming together in her name to do the same.

This Friday, we’re opening Yadkin River Dental Spa to provide free dental care to survivors of domestic violence and vulnerable women and children. The community is showing up in the most beautiful way.

Our team and volunteers are donating their time, expertise and care. Hurst Dental Lab is donating lab services. YVEDDI Yadkin County Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Program has donated and helped us reach those in need. Speedy Chef Elkin fed our volunteers at last week’s screening, and Burgers & More On The Go -Squeezing for Jesus Lemonade & Tea is feeding them this Friday.

We still need help covering dental supplies and transportation for patients.

After so much has been donated, for some patients, one of the last things standing between them and the care they need is simply a ride to our office.

We can change that.

She was only in her twenties.

She believed that every person deserved to feel safe, heard, and valued.

And then, far too soon, she was gone.

Her name was Kate Butler.

Kate graduated as valedictorian from NC State, but the title she would have been proudest of wasn't "valedictorian."

It was advocate.

As a leader with NCSU The Movement, Kate dedicated herself to educating others, preventing interpersonal violence, and standing beside survivors during some of the darkest moments of their lives. She believed that kindness wasn't just something you felt—it was something you did.

Although Kate's life was tragically cut short in 2022, her compassion continues to ripple through our community.

On August 14, Yadkin River Dental Spa and YVEDDI Yadkin County Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Program will honor Kate's legacy by providing free dental care to survivors of interpersonal violence, women, and children in our community who are facing significant barriers to accessing care.

Because when someone has experienced trauma, restoring a smile isn't just dentistry.

It's dignity.

It's confidence.

It's hope.

This clinic isn't about fixing teeth.

It's about reminding people that they matter.

That they are seen.

That they are worthy of care.

On August 7 and August 14, we're hoping to change that.

Yadkin River Dental Spa is proud to partner with YVEDDI Yadkin County Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Program to provide a **FREE dental clinic** for survivors of domestic violence and vulnerable women and children in Surry, Stokes and Yadkin Counties.

For many, this may be the first time in years they've smiled without pain, eaten without discomfort, or felt seen and cared for.

🦷 **FREE SERVICES INCLUDE:**
• Dental exams
• X-rays
• Cleanings
• Fillings
• Extractions
• Oral health education
