We use a Periodontal Probe to measure the space between your teeth and gums, called the pocket. Healthy pockets are 1-3mm, at 4mm, we start to see some breakdown of the gums; and 5+mm, then the deeper the pocket, the higher the level of disease. When's the last time you had your pockets measured?
