Dental implants need healthy gums! Peri-implantitis (advanced gum disease around an implant) is a serious condition, which can lead to implant failure if left untreated. On the bright side, specialized periodontal care can help stop bone loss around implants. Not sure if you have peri-implantitis or not? Call our office to make an appointment 574-266-6107 and find out how healthy your implants are!

Back to school season is here! (And soon College Football!)
As you are checking off your school supply lists and getting everyone back into a routine, don't forget about another super important habit: taking care of those healthy smiles!

The school year is a great time to reset healthy routines:
🪥 Brush twice a day for two minutes. (Be sure to get by the gumline!)
🦷 Floss daily, and use interproximal brushes too!
💧 Choose water over sugary drinks whenever possible.
🍎 Pack smile-friendly snacks like cheese, yogurt, nuts, and crunchy fruits and vegetables.

Healthy gums are just as important as healthy teeth. Bleeding when you brush or floss isn't normal--it is often an early sign of gum disease and should be evaluated before it progresses!

Whether your heading back to school, college, or simply getting back into a routine after summer, it's never a bad time to prioritize your oral health.

Wishing all of our students, teachers, staff, and families a happy, healthy and successful school year!

Gum health is just as important, if not more important after you've gotten an implant. The gums actually heal differently around an implant than a natural tooth, and because of this, inflammation can spread a lot faster. Regular periodontal care afterwards is critical to keeping your gums healthy and protecting your investment after you've gotten an implant. And that's where we can help! We specialize in gum care around teeth and implants! Call to schedule an appointment, 574-266-6107!
