This week we want to highlight Jill our Office Manager! She’s been such an important part of team since 2009. Here’s a little to get to know her:
“Inspired by my hygienist mother, I entered the dental world back in 1986 as a high school senior and never looked back! I've done it all- from assisting to training offices on dental software- before finding my home managing the practice here at EGFD. I love that our team at EGFD cares about the big picture of our patient's oral health, rather than just "drilling and filling." When I'm not helping our office run smoothly, you can find me out on the boat with my husband, working in the backyard with my dogs Dottie and Daisy, or hanging out with my granddaughter.”
✨ Fun Fact: I love volunteering at Horse and Halo, a non-profit horse rescue program.
✨ Heartbreak: My absolute favorite toothpaste flavor was Mentadent, and I'm still mourning the fact that they don't make it anymore .

A little learning and a lot of fun is how we started this week!🦷💕

We brought our Scripps Family Dental and Elk Grove Family Dentistry teams together for a Staff Learning + Play Day!

We kicked things off with HIPAA & OSHA Training with Tom Terry, followed by lunch together at Pig Latin 🌮, then wrapped up our day with Manis & Pedis Eco Nail Lounge 💅💅✨

So fun having both offices together to learn, laugh, and enjoy some Team pampering!❤️

Say hello to Chrissie our very own Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions! She leads our team with high standards and Kindness at every opportunity. Here’s a little from her:
“I joined the dental field as a DA in 2017 looking for a career that balances my love for meeting new people with family life, eventually upgrading my skills to an Extended Functions license. When I am not reminding patients that oral health is a vital part of your whole-body healing, you can find me running, reading, or making homemade pizza with my family. If I wasn't at EGFD, my dream job would be a full-time stay-at-home mom which makes sense, considering I have seven kids, all of whom l've homeschooled!
✨ Weekend Status: Checking out local breweries and live music with my husband, going to church, or cheering for the New York Yankees.
✨ Confession: I Actually floss 5 to 6 times a day. No, really.

Welcome back to EGFD’s staff highlights! Julie has been with us 2017 and we are so happy to have her here 💕 Here’s a little to get to know her:
“I wanted to be a school psychologist, but state budget cuts said, "How about teeth instead?" Best plot twist ever I started as an assistant in 2012- juggling daytime dental work, nighttime science classes, and weekend bartending- before officially becoming a Hygienist in 2014. If I weren't saving smiles at EGFD, I'd be living like Joanna Gaines- flipping houses, antiquing, and baking on a farm. Instead, you can find me being a homebody with my husband Justin, our boys Milo and Lukas, and our Frenchie, Shay. I love EGFD because my coworkers are family, our patients are the best, and we keep things fun yet professional.”
🦷 My Dental Soapbox: Please stop saying baby teeth don't matter! Cavity bacteria is a family heirloom you don't want to pass down. My top hack? Keep it simple: brush twice a day with an electric toothbrush, floss once, and don't share pacifiers.
🦷 My Toothpaste Rule: If it doesn't taste like an arctic blizzard, I don't want it.

Dr. Rollofson’s son Nico is in braces with Elkgroveorthodontics —and learning early that a great smile takes a little work!

Because good habits start young… especially when your mom is checking. 😂🦷

What are the chances that her 4th grade teacher from Cosumnes River Elementary AND her 7th grade teacher from Kerr Middle School would both be in the office on the same day?! 🍎❤️

Teachers have such a special place in our memories, and this was a pretty amazing full-circle moment with two people who knew Dr. Rollofson LONG before the “Dr.” was in front of her name.

One of the best parts of practicing in the community where you grew up is moments like this. So grateful for the teachers and schools that make the Elk Grove Unified community so special.🥰🍎❤️
