Unlike bones, teeth do not grow bigger as a child grows. Once a permanent tooth forms and erupts, the crown is essentially its adult size.
That means when those surprisingly large permanent front teeth first come in, they may look way too big for a child’s face. 😮 As the jaws and face continue to grow, their proportions often look much more natural.

Dr. Hiroshi has been using his Canon EOS Rebel T2i since 2009—more than 16 years! This camera has captured countless orthodontic photos throughout his career and continues to be used at Prime Stars Orthodontics today. 🦷📷
Even more special, the camera was a generous gift from alumni of the Saint Louis University orthodontic postgraduate program while Dr. Hiroshi was a resident there. 💙
