🎄 Christmas Assistance Resources Needed! 🎁

I know it’s a little early, but we’ve already had people asking where they can get help with Christmas gifts this year!

We know about the Elk City Mayor’s Toy Drive, but does anyone know of other organizations, churches, or programs offering assistance? Especially for families outside of Elk City!

We want to make sure we can point people in the right direction. Please comment below or send us a message if you know of any resources! 🤍

And please, if you aren’t needing help this Christmas, don’t judge those who are. You never know what someone else is going through.

We’ve gotten a trailer to help with the overflow of donations. Unfortunately, it wasn’t properly set on the blocks and is now leaning and very unsecured.

Do we have any local friends that would be willing to donate their time to help us re-set the trailer and make it secure? It would be a tax write-off, and we would be very appreciative!

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to The Way Church for choosing us as one of their Serve Day projects! 🤍

Their team helped us move trailer loads of overflowing items from Christi’s to our main office. These items will be used for our upcoming Massive Garage Sale, with 100% of the proceeds going directly into our benevolence fund.

Because of their generosity and willingness to serve, these items will help us continue providing assistance to so many people in our community. 🥹

🎄 Can you believe we are only 12 weeks away from Christmas?! 🎄

The Community Christmas Dinner was started in 2019 by the amazing Liberty McArthur.
What began with a simple need for community and a desire to make sure no one was alone for Christmas has grown into the amazing event we have today. ❤️
In 2019, around 200 people we served. Last year, we served over 350, and this event continues to grow each year.

Because the truth is, no one should have to spend Christmas alone or go without a meal. The Community Christmas Dinner helps make sure that everyone has a place at the table, a warm meal, and a little extra love during the holiday season. 🎄❤️

And the giving doesn’t stop when dinner is over. Any leftovers are taken to our unhoused community, local fire department, and police department so that the food, and the love, can continue to be shared.

This is what community is about. Coming together for one another, especially when someone needs it most.
We are so thankful for every person who has helped make this event possible over the years. We can’t wait to see what this year brings! 🎄✨

Together, we can make sure no one goes without this Christmas. ❤️

We would love to give a huge thank you to The Way Church for their incredibly generous donation of food and drinks for our Day Shelter. 🥹❤️

It might seem like a small thing to some, but this truly means so much to us and to the individuals who utilize our Day Shelter.

Whether they come in to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, grab some breakfast, stop in for a hot meal, visit with us for a little while, or pick up an overnight bag, these simple things can make such a difference. ❤️

For some, our Day Shelter is a place they turn to when they feel lost, overwhelmed, or simply don't know where else to go. We want them to know that when they walk through our doors, they will find people who are here to help. People who will provide a meal, offer compassion, listen without judgment, and welcome them with open arms.
Food may fill a stomach, but kindness, compassion, and knowing someone cares can help fill a much deeper need.

Thank you, The Way Church, for helping us continue to be a place where people know they are welcome, cared for, and never alone. Your generosity truly makes a difference. ❤️
