”When should my child go to the dentist for the first time?” 👶
This is one of the most common questions I get asked as a pediatric dentist, and the answer might be earlier than you think.
I recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit by age one or within 6 months of their first tooth coming in.
These early visits are less about treatment and more about making sure everything is developing properly, checking for any early concerns, and helping you feel confident about your child’s dental health moving forward. 🤍
It’s also a great opportunity for you to ask questions and get guidance on things like brushing, habits, nutrition, and what’s normal as your child grows.
As both a mom and a pediatric dentist, I know first visits can feel a little intimidating for parents too, which is why we focus on making the experience feel easy, welcoming, and low-pressure from the moment you walk in.
If you’ve been thinking about scheduling your child’s first visit, we’d be happy to walk you through what to expect and help you find a time that works best for your family 📲✨
