Dental advice we need to stop believing. 👀
There’s a lot of dental advice out there—and not all of it deserves a spot in your routine.
Here are a few myths we’d happily retire:
🦷 **“If my teeth don’t hurt, they’re fine.”**
Not necessarily. Some dental problems can develop without obvious pain or symptoms.
🪥 **“Brushing harder means cleaner teeth.”**
Nope. Gentle, thorough brushing for two minutes, twice a day is the goal—not scrubbing harder.
🧵 **“I brush really well, so I don’t need to floss.”**
Your toothbrush can’t effectively clean every tight space between your teeth. Cleaning between your teeth daily still matters.
✨ **“Charcoal toothpaste will whiten my teeth.”**
Be careful with this one. Some charcoal products can be abrasive, and there isn’t strong evidence supporting their whitening claims.
🥥 **“Oil pulling can replace brushing.”**
Your toothbrush would like a word. Oil pulling is not a replacement for brushing with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between your teeth.
The internet has dental hacks. We have dentists.😉
