A public service announcement from Sewell Dental Arts. There is a cost for dental services such as routine examinations, cleanings, and cavity repairs. No dentist can afford to work for free after eight plus years of schooling and overhead of running an office 😊. For the patient, there’s an even bigger cost for neglecting one’s teeth. An untreated cavity can lead to a broken tooth or gum disease. If untreated these conditions can lead to more broken teeth, and it becomes a downward spiral until eventually all of one’s teeth must be replaced. This happens – look it up – look up “all on four” and learn about full arch replacements. That’s what we do. We encourage all patients to keep up on oral health with routine cleanings and examinations with their local Dentist, and when a tooth degrades or breaks, act quickly, because the real cost of ignoring one’s oral health is more than just a financial burden.

At Sewell Dental Arts, we are aware of the high cost of dental implants. Our best clients are those who have visited the larger corporate box stores or chains which bombard the internet with advertisements promising brand new teeth in a day – before they even meet you. Here’s what we do at Sewell Dental Arts to save on costs – maybe it’s more like what we “don’t” do… we don’t pay franchise fees to a large parent corporation; we don’t have separate lab fees (that are really a big box subsidiary); we don’t fly in doctors and put them up in hotels on the day of surgery; we don’t pay commissions and bonuses based on volume of patients; we don’t spend millions advertising on the social media. In an adult human mouth, there are thirty-two teeth. If one has their wisdom teeth removed, that leaves twenty-eight comprised of incisors, canines, pre-molars and molars. Teeth play a very important role in eating, chewing, and nutrition. The incisors are at the front of the mouth and are used for cutting food. The canines are in between the incisors and molars and are used for tearing food. The molars are at the back of the mouth and are for grinding food. Teeth also are important for making sounds, speaking clearly, and of course, one’s appearance. The loss of even one tooth destroys the balance and harmony in one’s mouth and puts undue stress on surrounding teeth. This creates a domino effect as the surrounding teeth degrade from the additional stress and will also eventually fail. This radically alters one’s appearance. At Sewell Dental Arts we see all kinds of patients in need of replacing missing or damaged teeth. Some struggle for years to muster the courage to come through our doors. At Sewell Dental Arts we understand many of our patients come in with a desire to replace missing teeth.
