⚠️‼️Most people are not aware of the repercussion of our actions. This beautiful young woman decided to get veneers done to compensate for her malocclusion. Sometimes patient education is missed or dentist agree to do treatments without an accurate diagnosis. These actions led to severe physical and emotional trauma. Educate yourself and practice the golden rule.

It was a hard case to treat, and it’s still not finished. I will probably retouch the crown lengthening before starting restorative phase with restorations from 6-11- Initial inflammation made it impossible to gauge how much recession was going to occur post-surgically, but she’s definitely happier than before. 💢🔆

4 year follow up ⬆️ this vertical soft tissue defect was the aftermath of a GTR procedure to treat an 8mm intrabony defect. After therapy I was thrilled to gain stability, bone fill and reduce pockets. However, there was an evident recession at the interproximal papilla. I opted for a closed tunnel approach with a single incision at the level of the free mucosa to insert a tuberosity graft. Pictures show the evolution throughout the las 4 years. She was so happy 😁 to see the before and after! Team work makes Dream work🤩- dentistry to get the best results for our patients. This case was a good one. Patient presented with a history of and failed implants in the maxilla. She had gotten used to her flipper, but she wasn’t satisfied. It took many appointments to explain the different options for and we got and his wonderful team involved .grace - 🔙Due to her traumatic dental past, sedation was needed even for records ( impressions, scans, photos)- thankfully we got to perform a challenging surgery that allowed for immediate delivery of a temporary prosthesis on 6 .us . Final and mandibular implant retained single crowns were also completed to balance her occlusion. 8-months from final restoration she is Loving her smile, enjoying her ability to chew, and is very thankful with her results! 😃Crown lengthening procedure with a life changing outcome. Any competent dentist can properly diagnose this, nothing too special about it. This case was special, because this patient is a 15 year old introvert who doesn’t like to socialize much, mostly because he said he didn’t feel comfortable smiling. He underwent orthodontic treatment, didn’t practice good oral hygiene, had altered passive eruption, and happened to be taking phenytoin. Like I said before, fixing this issue is relatively simple, gingivectomy, followed by ostectomy following CEJ margins and practicing good oral hygiene, and it’s done. But you know what is hard? Getting insurance companies to cover this type of procedure- they cover crowns, scaling and root planning, endo and even part of ortho. But not this… dental insurance dictating what we can or cannot do is getting real old… Basing coverage on what they think is right or wrong without patient contact, is wrong. ⏭️Complex cases require more elaborate solutions ⛑️ 78 year old female presents for implant consultation, after extraction of #11,12. No bone grafting was placed because she initially opted for an RPD, which she didn’t tolerate well. Treatment plan included: 1- Visually Guided™️ Implant osteotomies with Densah burs and placing . 2- Lateral GBR with Autogenous + Allograft + L-PRF sticky bone, covered with collagen membrane soaked in PRF and secured with dissolvable sutures 5-0 Glycolon and 4-0 chromic gut. Post-op care limited to Tylenol + Ibuprofen, Medrol Dose Pack, Amoxicillin 875mg and Stellalife Recovery kit with 3x3x3 protocol.
Baseline to Day 16. Tooth 24 presents with endo-perio involvement and minimal mobility, after a long conversation with the patient and providers, and considering the area of the mouth (I dislike implants here), we decided to treat her with and and - I think it’s fair to say that we had good success!
