Thank you to two wonderful lactation professionals who recently spent time with us at the Pennsylvania Tongue-Tie Center!

We were delighted to welcome Cassy L. IBCLC of The Nurtured Bond and Cassie C., RDN, LDN, IBCLC, of Hamilton Health Center WIC/Early Intervention, for a behind-the-scenes look at our comprehensive approach to tongue-tie care.

At PTTC, we believe that optimal outcomes come from more than a release alone. Our model integrates evaluation, functional support, collaboration with lactation professionals, bodywork, craniosacral therapy (CST), and ongoing follow-up to help babies and families thrive.

During their visit, Cassy and Cassie not only learned more about the role of CST in our care model, but also experienced craniosacral therapy themselves. By feeling its gentle effects firsthand, they gained a deeper understanding of how CST can support both infants and mothers by helping reduce tension, improve comfort, and support overall function and well-being.

We are grateful for the trust they place in us through their referrals and for their commitment to continually learning and growing on behalf of the families they serve. Collaboration like this strengthens our community and helps more babies and moms receive the support they need to thrive.

Thank you, Cassy and Cassie, for spending time with us—we look forward to continuing to work together in support of healthier, happier families! 💕

Patients often become like family to us over the years—but this one actually is family. 😊

Dr. Cockley’s mom, Connie, stopped by for her hygiene visit recently. Seeing multiple generations in our office is one of the greatest joys of what we do. Whether we’re helping a newborn feed more comfortably, guiding a child through growth and development, or caring for a parent’s smile, every stage of life matters.

And yes… Mom still gets reminded to floss. 😉🦷💙

Sometimes parents KNOW something isn’t quite right long before anyone can explain why.

Maybe feeding feels harder than it should.
Maybe your baby struggles to stay latched, seems uncomfortable during feeds, wakes constantly, or carries tension through the neck and body.

And sometimes…
you’ve already been told:
“They’ll grow out of it.”
“Everything looks normal.”
“You’re just an anxious parent.”

At the Pennsylvania Tongue-Tie Center, we believe parents deserve to be heard.

Not every challenge is caused by oral restrictions — but many feeding, breathing, sleep, and developmental concerns can involve compensation patterns and oral dysfunction that deserve thoughtful evaluation.

Most importantly:
your baby deserves a FULL picture, not a quick fix.

That’s why our approach focuses on:
✨ preparation
✨ functional assessment
✨ release when appropriate
✨ retraining and collaborative support

Because the goal isn’t simply a procedure.
The goal is improved function, comfort, and healing.

You are not alone — and there IS help.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two wonderful local doulas, Amy and Darby from Dauphin County Doulas, for a morning of learning and collaboration at Pennsylvania Tongue-Tie Center!

They spent time observing how we evaluate and manage oral restrictions, learning more about the important role comprehensive care plays in supporting babies and families. They also had the opportunity to learn about Craniosacral Therapy with our CST provider, Moriah, and how bodywork can help support comfort, function, and overall outcomes for infants.

We love connecting with professionals who are passionate about supporting moms and babies and who continually seek knowledge to better serve their clients. Thank you, Amy and Darby, for spending the morning with us — we thoroughly enjoyed your visit and look forward to continuing to build strong community connections for the families we all serve! 🤍

Happy Anniversary Amber!! We love you! 😍

EBS Anniversary 🚨

19 YEARS OF AMBER 🙌🐝

If East Berlin Smiles had a control tower… Amber would be running it. ✈️
Keeping everyone flying straight, on time, and exactly where they’re supposed to be (whether they like it or not 😄).

Amber is our:
✨ EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) extraordinaire
✨ No-nonsense, get-it-done leader
✨ Teacher + published dental assisting author
✨ World-traveling dental missionary 🌎
✨ In-office IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) helping our tiniest patients learn to use their newly freed tongues 👶👅

She’s the one who keeps us grounded… while somehow doing a thousand things at once—and doing them perfectly. Always on time. Always prepared. Always ten steps ahead.

Also: raises bees 🐝 (because of course she does), loves her family fiercely, and somehow still shows up every day ready to lead the charge.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without her. Not even close.

Cheers to 19 years, Amber—
our backbone, our compass, and the steady force behind everything we do 💛

If something doesn’t feel right, trust that instinct.

So many families come to us after feeling like something was being missed—feeding struggles, tension, or concerns that didn’t fully resolve.

You deserve clear answers and a plan that looks at the whole picture.

Schedule a consultation and let’s help you find clarity.

Most people think treatment is just a quick procedure.

But real results don’t come from a single step.

They come from a thoughtful process:
• Thorough assessment
• Laser release (when appropriate)
• Ongoing support for healing and development

Because better outcomes come from treating the whole picture.

Many families are told it’s just a tongue-tie.

But what we often see is more than that.

Compensation.
Body tension.
Feeding patterns.

These are all connected—and they matter.

When you look at the full picture, things start to make sense.
