✨A smile transformation that speaks for itself!

Dr. Self restored this patient’s smile with 8 anterior crowns, rebuilding teeth that were damaged by decay, and restoring both function and confidence. The result is a healthy, natural looking smile that the patient can be proud to show off.

We love seeing the life changing impact that quality dentistry can make, and we are honored Ms. Janice allowed us to be a part of it!

🪥Using a soft-bristled toothbrush is one of the best ways to protect your smile! 😀

Many people think a harder bristle toothbrush cleans better, but that’s actually a myth. Soft bristles are effective at removing plaque and bacteria while being gentle on your teeth and gums. Hard or medium bristles can cause unnecessary wear on tooth enamel and can contribute to gum recession over time, and also cause sensitivity.

Benefits of a soft-bristled toothbrush:

🪥 Removes plaque effectively
🪥Helps protect enamel from abrasion
🪥Is gentler on sensitive teeth and gums
🪥Reduces the risk of gum recession
🪥Recommended by dental professionals

When brushing, use gentle pressure and brush in circular motions instead of scrubbing hard. Your teeth and gums will thank you! 🦷

🦷 Tooth Tip Tuesday 🦷

Don’t forget to brush your tongue! While most people focus on their teeth, your tongue can harbor millions of bacteria that contribute to bad breath, plaque buildup, and an overall unclean feeling in your mouth.

Each time you brush your teeth, take a few extra seconds to gently brush your tongue from back to front or use a tongue scraper. This simple step helps remove bacteria, freshen your breath, improve your sense of taste, and support better overall oral health.

A healthy smile isn’t just about clean teeth—it’s about a clean mouth! ✨

🦷 Tooth Tip Tuesday! 🦷

⏰ Wait 30 minutes to brush after acidic foods or drinks!

🍋 Acidic foods and drinks can temporarily soften your tooth enamel.

🪥 Brushing immediately afterward can cause extra wear on the softened enamel

💧 Instead, rinse your mouth with water after eating or drinking something acidic.

⏰ Give your enamel about 30 minutes before brushing.

🍊 Common acidic foods and drinks include:
• Citrus fruits & juices
• Soda
• Sports & energy drinks
• Wine
• Vinegar-based foods

A little patience can help protect your enamel and your smile! 🦷✨

🪥Tooth Tip Tuesday 🪥

Did you know your toothbrush doesn’t last forever?
Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3-4 months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed.

Worn out bristles are less effective at removing plaque and keeping your teeth and gums healthy. A fresh toothbrush helps you get the clean your smile deserves!

✨Check your toothbrush today—if the bristles are bent or worn, it’s time for a new one!

✨Smile Myth Monday✨

🦷 Myth: Mouthwash can replace brushing and flossing.

✅ Fact: Mouthwash is a great addition to your oral hygiene routine, but it can’t replace brushing and flossing. Brushing removes plaque and food from the surfaces of your teeth, while flossing cleans between teeth-an area mouthwash simply can’t reach effectively.

💡 Takeaway: For a healthy smile, remember the rule: Brush. Floss. Then rinse. Mouthwash is the finishing touch, not the main event!

Smile Myth Monday✨🦷

BUSTED🚫

Myth: Sugar is the only thing that causes cavities.

Fact: Sugar isn’t the only culprit! While sugary treats can increase your risk for cavities, they’re not the only cause. Cavities form when bacteria in your mouth feed on carbohydrates and produce acids that attack your tooth enamel. Foods like crackers, chips, bread, dried fruit, and even sugary drinks can all contribute to tooth decay.

The takeaway: The real issue isn’t just what you eat-it’s how often your teeth are exposed to these acids throughout the day. Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, drinking water regularly, and keeping up with regular dental checkups can help keep cavities away.
A healthy smile is about more than avoiding candy!
