Tooth Talk Tuesday! 😁

Braces are more than just a way to straighten teeth—they can help improve your overall oral health and give you a more confident smile. Interestingly, orthodontic treatment dates back to ancient times, with evidence that even the Egyptians used early methods to align teeth. Today, there are several types of braces, including traditional metal braces and clear aligners.
But why do people need braces? Crooked teeth, overbites, and underbites can make it difficult to chew or speak properly and may even affect self-confidence. Treatment typically lasts anywhere from 18 months to 3 years, depending on the individual’s needs and how complex the alignment issues are.
Are braces painful? Some people experience mild discomfort, especially when braces are first placed or adjusted, but this usually improves within a few days. Maintaining good oral hygiene is also essential. Regular brushing, flossing, and proper cleaning help prevent plaque buildup and keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout treatment.
