Brother and sister, before and after! Two different smiles, two personalized treatment plans, one shared result: a smile they love. ✨

Case 1 — Invisalign: Only one refinement was needed and treatment time of 15 months. Deep overbite correction can be done with aligners with proper treatment selection and aligner mechanics. The most important part of treatment with aligners is patient compliance! 20-22 hours per day for A+ results!

Case 2 — Braces: A more complicated case with an impacted canine, treated in 18 months. In photos #3 and #4 you can see how we pull in the impacted canine after it is exposed. Typically bracket repositions are needed to get the teeth in the perfect, final positions.

Two totally different paths, same commitment to getting it right. Whether it’s aligners or braces, every patient here gets a plan built just for them. So proud of this family’s results! 💙

If your retainer suddenly feels tight.. no, it didn’t shrink in the drawer. 😅

Your teeth have probably started shifting.

That doesn’t mean you ruined your smile, but it does mean your retainer is trying to tell you something.

If it still fits all the way and doesn’t cause sharp pain, start wearing it again and let us know what’s going on.

Amazing Phase I Orthodontic result! 🦷

This patient came to us with:
– Anterior open bite
– Maxillary transverse skeletal deficiency
- Mouth breathing
- Crowding
- Vertical skeletal pattern

Dr. Runco and Dr. Perih both hold degrees in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics — which means with our younger patients, we’re not just aligning teeth, we’re guiding how the jaw and face grow.

We used a bonded maxillary palatal expander and braces to get this result. Bonded expanders are one of our favorite tools for patients like her, because they help control the vertical growth pattern while widening the upper jaw. You can see the facial changes that come with true skeletal expansion — her bite closed up nicely, her gum tissue looks so much healthier, and she’s set up for years of good growth ahead.

Improved sleep and nasal breathing could be a byproduct of palatal expansion early on at this age. While airway is a very complex and dynamic system, there can be some benefits of orthodontic treatment early on for it. We work closely with pediatricians, ENTs, and myofunctional therapists (Lingua Speech, Swallow, and Voice Services LLC) to determine best treatment plans for our patients.

A Sneak Peek Mid-Treatment✨

This patient presented to our office with:
– Underbite (anterior crossbite)
– Posterior crossbite
– Severely worn dentition
– Crowding in both arches
– Uneven gingival margins

SMILE being created with:
✨ Invisalign to achieve proper overjet and align the gingival margins for future restorations
✨ Precise treatment planning with the end restorative goal in mind

Treatment is still in progress, but here’s a peek at where things stand! You can see on the final Invisalign ClinCheck how the case was set up to achieve more esthetic gingival margins.

Our patient was heading to the beach, so Dr. Runco bonded both front teeth to proper length and width. Notice how nicely the gingival margins are aligned now. 👀

The best part of this new smile isn’t about the teeth. It’s about the confidence behind the smile!
