There are many different types of mouth sores than can develop around or in the mouth. Some are painful, some are unsightly, and some may be a sign of something more serious. If your mouth sore does not go away within 10 days, you should consult your dentist. If you suspect you have an infection, consult your dentist as soon as possible to eliminate complications.

As wisdom teeth are the last permanent teeth to come in, there is often not enough room left in your mouth to accommodate them. Sealants, also referred to as dental sealants, consist of a plastic material that is placed on the chewing (occlusal) surface of the permanent back teeth — the molars and premolars — to help protect them from bacteria and acids that contribute to tooth decay.

Plaque accumulates in these areas, and the acid from bacteria in the plaque attacks the enamel, causing cavities to develop.

If you frequently wake up with a sore jaw, a dull headache or tooth pain, you may want to ask a qualified dental professional if you are suffering from a condition called bruxism. Bruxism, or teeth grinding, affects about 10 to 15 percent of adults, according to the American Dental Association.
There are several ways to alleviate the effects of bruxism. One of the most common, which your dentist may recommend, is a night guard. This is an appliance typically worn while sleeping through the night.

Night Guards made by our office are of a higher quality and superior fit, as they are made in a special laboratory from an impression of your mouth carefully taken by one of our dental professional.

Their are a few different brands and items on the market for dry mouth, but the most important aspect is that it must be Alcohol FREE.
