Experts cited in the article indicated that because of several factors — including a lack of access to oral hygiene products, an inability to brush the teeth and the exclusion of oral hygiene from standard care services — a large proportion of patients may not brush their teeth when hospitalized. Forgoing oral hygiene during hospitalization may increase the risk of hospital-acquired pneumonia, which can lengthen the duration of hospitalization, increase the risk of mortality and elevate health care costs.

"I absolutely love Hargis Family Dental. Not only did they get me in quickly, but they were all so helpful and kind. Dr. Hargis came in and you can tell he knows exactly what he's doing. He took the time examining my entire mouth and coming up with a dental plan that worked for me. He made me feel comfortable and was very easy to talk to. I was extremely happy with the outcome. Not to mention he didn't try to do anything that wasn't needed like virtually every other dental place out there. If I was to compare Hargis to a different visit I had at a different dental clinic last week (to get quotes) it was a night & day difference in experience. The other place had me extremely anxious and I didn't feel confident in what I was being told. They treated me like a number after getting me in an HOUR past my appointment time. I immediately knew after today who I wanted to do all my dental work and that is Hargis Family Dental. I would happily come to the dentist if every experience was like the one I had today. The entire staff is exceptional and they make you feel right at home. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. It'll only leave you disappointed. Hargis is the only way to go. Katie and Anna represented Hargis Family Dental at the Grant Early Childhood Network's 2nd Annual Outdoor Family Adventure & Expo held at B22. That's a mouthful!
