As Labor Day approaches and many Americans return from vacation or hit the road one last time this season, I'm reminded of an article from earlier this summer about a wholly unique type of trip: dental tourism.
This article from the New Yorker profiles a town in Mexico that caters to Americans seeking dental work done on the cheap.

Just like dental work performed stateside, I've seen up close the handiwork of foreign dentists ranging from the 'hey, that's pretty good', to the 'not too bad', to the straight-up 'no bueno'.
If you or someone you know is considering traveling for dentistry, like anything else, please source trusted recommendations and exercise discretion with treatment.
Because if things go south, no one wants to hop a plane headed south of the border to fix it.
