Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery He has been practicing in Delaware since 2005 with full staff privileges at Kent General Hospital.

Dr. Ditty grew up in Northampton, Pennsylvania; attended nearby Muhlenberg College; and transitioned directly into dental school after 3 years. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, where he completed dental school as well as residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. During residency, Dr. Ditty also completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania – including 2 years of general surgery training, 8 months of intensive care and trauma surgery training, and 4 months as a second-year anesthesia resident.

Billing Specialist – Oral Surgery Practice

Location: First State Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Dover location)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time

First State Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a growing practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We value professionalism, compassion, and excellence in every aspect of the patient experience. We are currently seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our administrative team.

Position Overview

The Billing Specialist will manage and execute daily billing operations for the practice, including insurance claims, patient billing, payment posting, and account resolution. Attention to detail and knowledge of dental/oral surgery billing are essential to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities
• Submit insurance claims (electronically and by paper) accurately and promptly
• Post insurance and patient payments; manage EOBs
• Handle follow-ups on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations
• Respond to patient billing inquiries professionally
• Maintain and reconcile patient accounts
• Collaborate with clinical and front office teams to ensure accurate coding and documentation
• Stay up to date with coding and insurance guidelines (CDT, CPT, ICD-10)
