September 29 is and The Food Pantry at Harbor Health is kicking off our fall fundraiser to make sure our neighbors in need can put nutritious food on the table!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Now through October 31, all donations will go right to work purchasing food for the Food Pantry’s holiday grocery bags, community hours, and emergency access programs at Harbor’s community health centers.

In sparkling golden style, Harbor Health celebrated receiving the Health Center Quality Leader – Gold Badge from the Health Resources and Services Administration!! For the third year in a row, our community health centers including Geiger Gibson are among the top 10% nationally for overall clinical quality – and we are one of only three Federally Qualified Health Centers in Massachusetts to earn this badge!!

And for the second year in a row, Harbor Health was THE ONLY community health center in the state to earn the National Quality Leader - Behavioral Health badge. We were among 9 health centers in the state to earn the High-Value Care badge and we also received the Advancing Health IT for Quality badge.

All are welcome to get a FREE, CONFIDENTIAL HIV rapid test and learn about the latest in HIV and STI prevention and treatment.

⭐PLUS⭐: Go ahead and get your flu shot while you are at the health center! You do not have to be a patient at the health center to come to the THRIVE Clinic or get your flu shot.

THANK YOU to Boston Public Health Commission for supporting Geiger Gibson Community Health Center, Daniel Driscoll-Neponset Health Center, and other community health centers across the city as we all work to keep exceptional health care available to everyone!

We're awarding $3.3 million to support community health centers across Boston. Community health centers are the front door to care. They are being asked to hold that door open as federal cuts strip health insurance coverage from around 40,000 of our residents.

These cuts will heavily impact residents in Dorchester, Roxbury, Hyde Park, South End, and Mattapan. These are some of the neighborhoods with the greatest health disparities in the city.

Community health centers see all patients regardless of income and insurance status. Many residents will likely go to health centers for care. This will cause health centers to see more patients while receiving less payments for services.

It’s National Health Center Week!! This week, the National Association of Community Health Centers and community health centers around the country are celebrating the work our organizations do to make sure everyone can get the healthcare services they need! From serving a handful of communities to now reaching 1 in 7 Americans, community health centers today are in rural, suburban, and urban areas. We serve everyone, regardless of ability to pay or insurance status - all are welcome! ❤

POSTPONED: Due to the expected rainy and windy weather on Saturday, May 30, the Harbor Point Community Health & Wellness Fair and BBQ is cancelled for this weekend. We are working to reschedule this free and fun community event for later in the summer and look forward to sharing the new date! Thank you to Harbor Point Task Force and Tigers'Quad for your collaboration on this event!! And thank you to our community partners Boston Parks and Recreation Department Summer Fitness Series, Dorchester South/South Boston WIC Program, HKD Outreach, IMPACT Melanoma, Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline, Neighborhood Food Action Collaborative, and United Healthcare - we hope to see you at our rescheduled event!!
