Dental Connections Our mission: To provide equitable access to quality oral health care for all. We are a non-profit dental center established in 1919.

We provide comprehensive general and pediatric dental services. We serve all income levels and all age groups. We accept Medicaid, Hawk-i, Delta Wellness, MCNA, and private insurances. We also offer discount opportunities to families based on household income. We also operate community-based oral health programs including a fluoride varnish program in area Headstart and pre-schools; dental sealant

program in area schools; and the Smile Squad Mobile Dental Clinic (two chair custom built RV’s providing dental treatment services in area schools). In 2016, Dental Connections entered into partnership with Des Moines Public Schools to offer a satellite clinic, called the Nolden Gentry Dental Clinic located in Scavo High School in downtown Des Moines. This location provides dental services to enrolled students of Des Moines Public Schools.

And just like that, it’s the last day of school for the Smile Squad!

Our mobile team served a record number of students this year:
🦷 881 students received 5,870 dental procedures
🦷 5,627 kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 8th graders received screenings
🦷 2,344 preschool and younger students received screenings and fluoride

A huge thank you to our Smile Squad team, who truly makes a difference in our community every day!

Summer may be quieter, but we’ll still be out three days a week serving community outreach sites.

Tanesha stands out for many reasons. She always strives for excellence, brings skill and competence to her role, and makes her patients feel comfortable. She’s an amazing teammate — and of course, her fun personality keeps us all smiling! 💙
