The Iowa Dental Association is the premier professional association representing dentists in the state of Iowa.

In existence since 1863, the IDA is home to over 1,800 Iowa dentists, which represents approximately 80% of the state's licensed dentists.

Eight Iowa dentists represented our state at the ADA House of Delegates in Indianapolis last week, joining colleagues from across the country to discuss and vote on policies shaping the future of organized dentistry.

As part of the 10th District, Iowa’s delegation collaborates with colleagues from Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Dr. Sara Stuefen (Vinton) also serves as 10th District Trustee on the ADA Board of Trustees.

Having Iowa dentists at the table ensures our members have a voice in decisions that impact the dental profession and the future of dentistry.

Reports have come in from members about questionable phone calls alleging that their state dental license number was compromised and used fraudulently.

The Iowa Dental Board (IDB) does not request or accept credit card payments by phone. Scammers are spoofing the IDB’s phone number so that 515.281.5157 appears on your caller ID.

If you receive a similar call, do not provide your credit card information. Reach out directly to the IDB at 515.281.5157 or IDA at 515.331.2298 for guidance.
