Brain Health Risks:

Oral bacteria like Porphyromonas gingivalis (common in gum disease) have been found in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.
Chronic inflammation from gum disease may play a role in neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia.
In rare cases, dental infections can lead to brain abscesses, which are pockets of pus in the brain caused by bacterial spread — a medical emergency.
