Ryan L Bates DDS PS (BatesDDS of Deer Park) is aware of the recent news about a former Deer Park Dentist, Dr Sandy Montano of Deer Park Dental, that created unsafe infection control conditions in his dental practice. This dentist is not and has never been affiliated with BatesDDS. For those of our current patients who are former patients of Dr Sandy Montano and are concerned about their infection risk, we encourage you to seek appropriate laboratory testing through your primary healthcare provider. At BatesDDS, we assure that the highest standards of infection control, as required by current government regulations, is strictly followed. We truly appreciate the responsibility to provide the highest quality and safest dental experience possible for each of our patients. Spring Break!!

We salute all our veterans today. I am grateful to rub shoulders daily with those who have served in our armed forces. There is a certain level of comradery among those who have served that creates an instant kinship. I am grateful for all of our patients and those within our community who are veterans and for those who exude the patriotic spirit that makes our country great. The time that our family spent on active duty in the Army truly made us better and brought us closer together as a family. So, from the whole team at BatesDDS, we thank you, veterans, for your service!

September 11 is always a reminder to me of the fragility of life, but also how strength rises from tragedy. On this day in 2001, I was a university student in Utah. I remember receiving a call from my sister and she said "are you watching the tv"? In between classes, I stood in my living room watching these horrific events unfold live. I stood there in disbelief, with feelings of anger. As I reflect on the events of that day, I realize how much time has passed, but the memories are still fresh, as if they were yesterday. I am uplifted by the acts of courage and bravery that were committed on that day. I am humbled as I hear from those who lost loved ones on that day. And I am encouraged from the unity that was seen from a nation ravaged by terrorism. It is my hope that we never forget so that we can always thwart the evil acts of terrorism, but also that we can remember that it was this trial, this travesty, that largely united a whole nation. In our current time of political divisiveness, we should pause and remember that we are a people that have more in common than differences. Unity brings strength and this strength can come from the citizens of a free nation. I am grateful for our smallish community where I see patriotism and a desire to serve one another. So in our remembrance of this tragic day, may we resolve to unite in common good, to preserve freedom, and make our community stronger.

Wishing everyone a happy 4th of July. We are grateful for this great country and the freedoms we enjoy.
