What else can cause gingivitis?
1. Smoking
2. Hormonal changes
3. Stress
4. Poor nutrition
5. Medications
6. Chronic diseases

Bleeding Gums Causes...
•the leading cause of bleeding gums is plaque buildup
•plaque buildup can lead to gingivitis
•gingivitis is an early stage gum disease that is uncomfortable and can cause not only bleeding gums but also: puffy, sore, red inflamed gums
•taking proactive steps to avoid gingivitis (I.e. brushing 2x a day) is the best way to avoid it

Given the times and dealing with the Covid-19, I was amazed at how exceptionally clean and prepared to make the patients feel very safe. Great job getting all PPE to support the staff and ensuring they are completely prepared. The hygienists are wearing gowns, with an N-95 mask, a regular mask over top of the N-95 and a face shield to stop any and all of the spraying water, etc. Sorry that Lydia will be leaving this summer. Thank you for your service, you were a pleasure. Best of luck to you and your husband on your new life in North Carolina. All the best!

Since we know what CAUSES bad breath, now to explore what “fixes” bad breath...
- Brush & floss twice a day
- Rinse with mouthwash after eating
- Chew sugarless gum (like Trident, Five, Orbit)
- Snacking on celery, carrots & apples which can help loosen debris
- Eating a nutritious diet (certain vitamin deficiencies can cause bad breath)
- Brush your tongue!

No one wants bad breath, but do you know some of the common causes?
1. Food — food can collect between the teeth producing an odor
2. Poor Dental Hygiene — plaque contains bacteria, which causes an odor; cavities & gingivitis can also cause bad breath (so don’t forget those hygiene appointments!!)
3. To***co Use — smoking can cause CHRONIC bad breath from the tar build up
