🐶🦷 Happy National Dog Day! 🦷🐶

Did you know your dog’s dental health is just as important as their overall health? A healthy mouth can help keep your furry friend happy, comfortable, and smiling for years to come! ❤️

Here are a few tips to help care for your pup’s pearly whites:

🪥 Brush regularly – Use a toothbrush and toothpaste made specifically for dogs. Never use human toothpaste!

🦴 Choose dental-friendly treats – Dental chews can help reduce plaque and tartar buildup when used appropriately.

🩺 Schedule regular vet visits – Your veterinarian can check for signs of dental disease and recommend professional cleanings when needed.

👀 Watch for warning signs – Bad breath, red or swollen gums, excessive drooling, difficulty eating, or loose teeth can all be signs that your pup needs a dental checkup.

🐾 Start early – Getting your dog comfortable with having their mouth handled and teeth brushed while they’re young can make dental care much easier.

Because every dog deserves a healthy smile! 🐕✨

Happy National Dog Day from Smiles by Seese! 💙

🦷 Do Your Wisdom Teeth Need to Be Removed? We Can Help You Find Out! 😁✨

Wisdom teeth don’t always cause problems—but when they do, it’s often because there isn’t enough room for them to grow in properly. That’s why regular dental checkups are so important!

At Smiles by Seese, Dr. Seese carefully monitors the position and development of your wisdom teeth through exams and dental imaging. While we don’t remove wisdom teeth in-office, we can determine if they’re:

✔️ Impacted or growing in at an angle
✔️ Putting pressure on or shifting other teeth
✔️ At risk for decay or gum irritation
✔️ Likely to cause future discomfort

If removal is recommended, we’ll help guide you to a trusted oral surgeon who specializes in safe, comfortable extractions.

Think your wisdom teeth might be causing trouble? Let’s take a look and help you figure out the next step! 🦷✨

🧚‍♀️🦷 National Tooth Fairy Day! 🦷✨

Losing a tooth is a BIG deal! Here are a few fun tips to make the Tooth Fairy’s visit a little easier:

✨ Put the tooth in a special container — a tiny tooth pillow, box, or cup works great!
📝 Leave a little note — Tell the Tooth Fairy your name, age, and anything special about your tooth.
💰 Choose a safe spot — Place it somewhere easy for the Tooth Fairy to find, like on the nightstand.
🌙 Brush before bed — A clean tooth makes for a happy Tooth Fairy! 😉
🧚‍♀️ Get some sleep! — The Tooth Fairy works best when everyone is fast asleep!

And remember… never leave a tooth under your pillow if you’re worried about it getting lost in the sheets! 😂

Happy National Tooth Fairy Day! 🦷💖

🦷✨ The Best Way to Clean Your Invisalign®

Want to keep your aligners clear, fresh, and looking their best? Make cleaning them part of your daily routine!

✔️ Rinse your aligners with lukewarm water
✔️ Gently brush them with a soft toothbrush
✔️ Use Invisalign cleaning crystals or an aligner-safe cleaner regularly
✔️ Avoid hot water—it can warp your aligners!
✔️ Always brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back in

A little daily care goes a long way toward keeping your aligners—and your smile—healthy and fresh! 😁

🦷 The Common Culprits Behind Sensitive Teeth

Does a sip of ice-cold water or a bite of something sweet make your teeth zing? Tooth sensitivity is common, but it’s not something you should simply ignore.

Some of the most common causes we see at Smiles by Seese include:

🔹 Gum Recession – When gums pull away from the teeth, the sensitive root surface becomes exposed.

🔹 Enamel Erosion – Acidic foods and drinks, aggressive brushing, and even acid reflux can gradually wear away protective enamel.

🔹 Cracked or Fractured Teeth – Even a crack that isn’t visible can allow sensitivity-triggering stimuli to reach the nerve.

🔹 Worn Fillings or Crowns – Older dental work can develop small gaps that expose the underlying tooth structure.

🔹 Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) – Clenching and grinding can wear down enamel and create tiny fractures that lead to sensitivity.

🔹 Cavities – Decay near or below the gumline can cause sensitivity before you experience significant pain.

🔹 Recent Dental Work – Some sensitivity after fillings, crowns, or deep cleanings is normal and typically improves within a few weeks.

💡 The important part? Sensitivity can have many different causes, and the right treatment depends on what’s actually happening beneath the surface.

A thorough dental exam, including X-rays and an evaluation of your gums and bite, can help pinpoint the cause and determine the best way to protect your smile.

Don’t just live with sensitive teeth. If you’re experiencing persistent or worsening sensitivity, schedule an appointment with Smiles by Seese. 🦷✨
