Wisdom Teeth extraction is not always necessary, especially if the teeth come in straight and fully emerged. However, especially if you’ve had braces, Wisdom Teeth often come in crooked and/or overcrowd your currently straight teeth. If this is the case, without extraction, you’re at risk for the Wisdom Teeth to undo the good work of your braces — or even more serious dental complications.

Pain from Wisdom Teeth is the most common reason for emergency dental care for adults aged 18-25.

In 1994, a study showed that around 90% of people receiving maxillofacial surgery, were getting their Wisdom Teeth removed.

If you’re receiving any pain or complications from your Wisdom Teeth, you should seek advice from your dentist to see if you should have them removed.
