Such wonderful progress with collaborative care and a team approach to infant frenectomy!

Wanted to highlight one of my favorite patients this month, sweet Birdie. We’ve been doing some intensive therapy to help improve her body, neck, and jaw tension to prepare her for a tongue, lip and cheek tie release .

Look at the difference in her facial features! But what you can’t see is even more dramatic. Mom shared that Birdie is:

- Latching and nursing better 🤱🏼
- Less fussy 😍
- Sleeping longer stretches (needing fewer contact naps!!!) 😴
- Improved gas and reflux 💛
- Less hiccups 💨
- Moving more easily 🤸‍♀️
- Turning her head both ways 👶🏼

👀 Please be aware of poor oral habits between 12-24 months old, which are pictured on the left. 🔍

Tongue and jaw movements are being impacted by poor oral habits including processed soft baby food, pouches, pacifiers and sippy cups at this age. These keep the suck reflex active when a baby should be developing their chewing pathways.

Small changes at this age can make a big difference! 😄
