Happy Friday from the Varble Ortho Squad!

If you’re planning to enjoy some sweet treats this Easter weekend, remember to watch out for treats that could damage your braces!

🍬 Avoid sticky or chewy candy like bubblegum and Starbursts
🍭 Avoid biting hard candies like Tootsie Pops and Jolly Ranchers as these can break your brackets
🍫 Beware of filled chocolate like Butterfingers or Whoppers, their tough fillings can also cause breakages

It’s the toughest part of every appointment at Varble Orthodontics…

Choosing your colors, of course!

The teeny, tiny bands that hold the wire in place come in a rainbow of colors. 🌈 But did you know some of those colors are prone to staining? Yikes!

For example, while white bands may seem like a good idea, they can make teeth look dull and tend to take on the colors of the foods you eat - think foods like beets, berries, coffee, and curry. ☕️🍓🫐

In contrast, darker colored bands are more stain resistant and can even make your teeth appear whiter! Dark greens, navy, purple, and black provide a high contrast against your teeth, making them look lighter by comparison.
