Today is 901 Day!
901 Day is a holiday started in 2013 to celebrate Memphis culture, creativity and community.

Memphis was founded in 1819 and was named after the ancient Egyptian capital that prospered along the Nile in the hopes that, similarly, Memphis would prosper along the Mississippi River. Memphis grew quickly and later became significant for transportation, commerce and American music history.

🎶Today Memphis is famously known as the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll with a rich legacy that includes Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Aretha Franklin, and Isaac Hayes. 🎶 When people think of Memphis they think of BBQ, music, the pyramid, Graceland, Martin Luther King, Jr, the Civil Rights Museum, Memphis Grizzlies and the Peabody Hotel. 🫶

Retainers! 😁
One of the types of retainers that we offer at Utley Orthodontics is an Essix C+ retainer. It is made of a high-grade, durable, thermoformed clear plastic material that retains the teeth following orthodontic treatment. These retainers are great for long term use and are essential for maintaining your beautiful smile!

Lets debunk some common myths about retainers!
Myth #1: You only have to wear your retainers for 1 year after orthodontic treatment.
False! - You will need to wear your retainers for the rest of your life to prevent your teeth from shifting back. 🤯

Myth #2: Boiling or bleaching your retainers is the only way to properly clean them.
False! -Antibacterial foaming soap on a toothbrush or a denture soak is all you need to use to keep your retainers clean. Always use cold or lukewarm water as hot water can melt the retainers. 🤯

Myth #3: The retainer case will keep your retainers safe.
False! -Pets will chew the case AND retainers. Make sure to keep your retainers in your case AND in a drawer to keep pets from getting them. 🤯
