We safely removed the old mercury amalgam using the SMART protocol to minimize exposure for the patient and our team.

Amalgam fillings contain mercury and can release small amounts of mercury v***r over time, which is one reason some patients prefer a more biocompatible, metal-free option.

After removal, we used ozone to reduce microbes, clean the tooth, and support a healthy environment for remineralization.

We then restored the tooth with VOCO Admira Fusion, a ceramic-based restorative material, for a more biologically focused and biocompatible solution.

At Holistic Dental Arts, we do recommend coming in for ozone therapy after reimplantation of an avulsed tooth. Ozone can help reduce the bacterial load, support healing of the surrounding tissues, and promote a healthier environment for recovery. While it cannot guarantee the long-term survival of the tooth, it may improve the healing conditions following reimplantation.
