We love the independence, but younger children usually still need a parent’s help to make sure every surface is actually getting clean.

Let them practice first, then go back in for the final brush. As their coordination improves, they can gradually take over!

That doesn’t mean Halloween candy has to be off limits!

A good rule of thumb: if two teeth are touching, it’s time to floss between them!

Your toothbrush does a great job cleaning the surfaces it can reach, but it can’t get into those tight spaces between teeth where plaque and food can hide.

Starting early also helps flossing become just another normal part of their routine!
