If you have dental insurance, your plan may have benefits available for treatment that will not roll over into the new year. Once January 1st arrives, many plans reset, and unused benefits may be lost.

🦷 Dental Tip Tuesday: October is National Dental Hygiene Month!

This month is a great reminder of just how important dental hygienists are to your care — and how closely they work with the doctor to help keep your smile healthy.

During your hygiene visit, your hygienist does much more than clean your teeth. They check your gum health, remove buildup, take needed X-rays, screen for changes in your mouth, and talk with you about any concerns or changes you may have noticed.

Then, when the doctor comes in for your exam, they use that information along with their own evaluation to get a complete picture of your oral health. Together, your hygienist and doctor can look for cavities, gum concerns, tooth wear, bite issues, infection, and anything else that may need attention.

Dental care is truly a team effort, and our hygienists play such an important role in prevention, education, and helping patients feel cared for every step of the way.
