We want to thank all of you for being patient the past three months during our mandated closure and hope you are all safe and healthy. Artistic Dental is now open again for elective and routine dental care. We ask that you all bear with us as we adapt to the ‘new normal.’ You will notice many changes that have been made for the safety of our staff and patients. Most importantly please remember to wear a face covering when coming to the office.
We are excited to see everyone and truly missed our fabulous dental family. See you soon. 🦷

New York State has mandated that our dental office is to be closed for routine and elective care.
We are currently rescheduling all dental and dental hygiene appointments for the next few weeks and only treating our patients that have emergency dental needs by appointment only since our hours will be limited.

Below are what is considered a true dental emergency:
 Uncontrolled Bleeding
 Facial or intra-oral swelling
 Trauma to teeth or facial bones
 Severe Pain
 Crown re-cementation if pain or gum irritation occurs
 Denture adjustments if appliance is not tolerated or causing sores

FYI - Over the next three weeks it will be impossible to find a dental office open for routine care. The American Dental Association has recommended closure for all routine care to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. However, if you experience a dental emergency, care should be available from your dentist to prevent a burden to local hospitals. I have been asked by several people about dental emergencies, so decided a FB post was needed.

Dental emergencies include:
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Facial swelling
- Trauma to teeth or facial bones (or fracture)
- Severe pain
- Crown re-cementing if pain or gum irritation occurs
- Denture adjustments if appliance is not tolerated or causing sore areas
- Orthodontic wire snipping if causing trauma to soft tissues

Hopefully this will help prevent frustration and improve your expectations at this time!!

In light of recent concerns about the spread of viral infections both locally in our community as well as globally, we want you to rest assured that we are doing everything possible to protect our patients, our friends and families, and ourselves. All of us at Artistic Dental Associates are going ‘above and beyond’ with frequent hand washing and disinfection of our office. We are wiping down counters, door handles, chairs and armrests, computers, phones and bathroom fixtures throughout the day.

Please do not get offended, but we have always treated all our patients and guests as if they have an infectious disease. This is called Universal Precaution and it is the Standard of Care in dentistry.

What can we all do to help?

 Excellent Personal Hygiene:
• Frequent hand washing, use of hand sanitizers if soap & water are not available
• Try not to touch your face, mouth and eyes
• Wash your clothes often using hot water
• Clean your personal environment – home, office, phone, car, etc…

 Social Distancing:
• Avoid large gatherings of people
• Try not to shake hands and maintain enough distance to minimize contact with people
• If you cough or sneeze, use your sleeve or tissue and wash your hands immediately

 If you feel ill or come in contact with someone showing symptoms, please stay home:
• We will be happy to re-schedule any appointments in our office if need be

These are simple, fundamentals that we can all implement now and always!!!

Thank you in advance for understanding,

Your dental team at Artistic Dental Associates of Commack 😊
