It’s true! Gutta-percha was widely used in golf balls and actually revolutionized the sport for over 50 years.

In 1848, a doctor discovered that dried tree sap, gutta-percha, could be molded into a durable, affordable golf ball called the “guttie”.

Golfers soon noticed that as these balls got scratched and nicked, they actually flew farther and straighter. This accidental discovery is the exact reason modern golf balls have dimples today!

Centuries later, this same biocompatible material is what we use in our office to safely fill and seal root canals. Whether it’s saving a par or saving your smile, gutta-percha is a total game-changer! 🦷✨⛳️
