Here is what helps in the first hour. Rinse with warm salt water. If you find the broken piece, keep it in milk or saliva, since it is sometimes usable. Cover any sharp edge with dental wax so it does not cut your tongue, and use a cold compress and ibuprofen for the ache. The one thing to skip is household glue. Here's one that surprises people: getting a crown doesn't make the tooth underneath cavity-proof.

Huge news we recently shared on our blog: Dr. Nicholas Ruana has earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
