Before & After Phase I Orthodontics — When the changes go beyond the smile. ✨

We’re excited to share the progress of one of our young patients following Phase I orthodontic treatment.

Before treatment, her family reported several concerns:

😮‍💨 Chronic mouth breathing
💤 Snoring
😟 Anxiety
😴 Excessive daytime sleepiness

After treatment, Mom told us something we’ll never forget: “She’s like a new daughter.” According to her family, the symptoms they had been seeing have disappeared.

When orthodontic treatment is about more than just a beautiful smile.

We’re excited to share the progress of one of our Phase I orthodontic patients and the changes their family reported during treatment.

Before treatment, Mom and Dad reported:

🌙 Bedwetting every night
😴 Moderate sleep apnea
💤 Snoring

Following Phase I treatment, the family reported some remarkable changes:

✨ Bedwetting disappeared
✨ Snoring disappeared
✨ AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index) decreased to 1.0

Cases like this are one of the reasons Dr. Z and our team look beyond simply straightening teeth. During a child’s growth and development, orthodontic treatment can sometimes play an important role in addressing the structure of the jaws and oral cavity as part of a broader, multidisciplinary approach to breathing and sleep.

Every child is different, and orthodontic treatment is not a stand-alone treatment or guaranteed cure for sleep apnea, snoring, or bedwetting. Children with sleep or breathing concerns should be appropriately evaluated and followed by their medical providers.

But when parents tell us their child is sleeping and breathing better while we’re also creating space for a healthy, beautiful smile—that’s a story worth sharing.
