Dr. Thames is originally from Hattiesburg, MS, I attended Peal River Junior College, and then proceeded to the University of Southern Mississippi, where I graduated in 1981. I am an Eagle fan and try to make it to as many of their football games as I can! Southern Miss, To The Top!! I attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry and obtained my dental license in 1985. At that point, I started a practice in Nettleton, MS. In 2005, I decided to expand, and opened the Olive Branch, MS location. In 2012, I branched out to Collierville, TN. I have since sold the Olive Branch & Nettleton offices and practice exclusively in Collierville, TN. Practicing dentistry is my passion, and with the vast changes in the field, I try to stay on the cutting edge with all of the latest in dental equipment, which is reflected in the practice. I attend numerous continuing education classes each year, and go above and beyond the requirements, so that I may be able to provide my patients with the very best, up-to-date dental care. When not at work, I love spending time with my family. I have two grown sons, Jason and Patrick, and a little girl, Dru. My wonderful wife, Stephani, works alongside me in the practice. My hobbies including going to sporting events, going to the movies, and RVing.

We have the BEST patients! Mr. Cookie Bynum and his sweet wife, Ms. Wendy, have been patients of Walter Thames for close to 20 years. Yesterday, they prepared lunch and brought it into the office for our doctors and staff. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness and for the DELICIOUS MEAL! They are truly one-of-a-kind, special people! Thanks again to the Bynums for our wonderful lunch!!
