Use diagnostics to dial it in! Opting for a diagnostic frame, socket, or BOTH can help dial in your prosthetic design.

This is particularly valuable when fitting challenging presentations, upper-limb cases (...if you don't do UL often), or when you want a more innovative design. Clear materials are used for the clinical evaluation of the limb within the prosthesis. A diagnostic can help you get to a successful definitive prosthesis, save you from costly redesigns, and result in a satisfied patient.

This 14ELMT custom transradial (TR) prosthesis features a modern, multicolor spectral line frame design that is not only beautiful on the exterior, but also includes an AIR-fit system in the interior socket for user-adjustable suspension.

For this case, the Clinical team chose to use the AIR-fit system with dual bladders to solve two clinical challenges:
1) To mitigate sensitive nerve pain around the distal radius and ulna. The bladders help "unload" those locations.
2) To provide improved suspension as the patient sweats.

Upper-limb cases don’t always follow a familiar pathway.

For years, 14ELMT has supported prosthetists with specialized upper-limb fabrication and technical expertise. Now, through our collaboration with Patrick Prigge, CP and Upper Limb Consultants, clinicians can also access focused clinical support for complex cases—from early planning and component strategy to documentation, reimbursement, fitting, and troubleshooting.

The treating prosthetist stays at the center of care. We bring additional upper-limb expertise when it’s needed.

DINO-tough and activity-specific! 🦖 🦾

This custom pediatric transradial prosthesis features a dinosaur-themed design with a distal biking attachment. The silicone socket includes our ELASTO-fit feature to make donning and doffing easier for a bulbous limb shape. We also added an embossed texture to the silicone socket in the frame cutout area to match the look of the exterior laminated sleeve.
