Happy Monday! Here are three tips for a whiter smile:

1. Be sure to brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes! Using a soft bristle toothbrush will help keep your teeth and gums healthy.
2. Floss daily! Skipping flossing is an easy way to allow bacteria to build, dulling your smile over time.
3. Rinse and chew! Swish with plain water immediately after eating. If you can’t rinse with water, you can chew Trident gum. It helps to reduce plaque buildup!

Still don't feel like your teeth are white? Come in to have your teeth whitened here at Magnolia Dentistry! 🦷

April is Stress Awareness Month—and your smile might be feeling it more than you think. 😬

When stress levels rise, many people unknowingly start grinding or clenching their teeth (also known as bruxism). This can happen during the day or even while you sleep.

Over time, grinding and clenching can lead to:
• Tooth wear and fractures
• Jaw pain or soreness
• Headaches, especially in the morning
• Increased tooth sensitivity

If you’ve been waking up with jaw discomfort or noticing tightness during the day, stress could be playing a role.

What can help?
✨ Be mindful of clenching during the day—keep your lips together, teeth apart
✨ Practice stress-reducing habits like deep breathing, exercise, or stretching
✨ Ask us about a custom night guard to protect your smile while you sleep

Taking care of your stress is also taking care of your oral health 💙

If you think grinding or clenching is affecting you, we’re here to help—schedule an appointment today!

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month 🦷

Oral cancer is a serious and often overlooked disease that can affect the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and throat. Early detection is key — when found early, oral cancer has a much higher survival rate.

🔎 Know the signs:
- Persistent mouth sores that don’t heal
- Red or white patches in the mouth
- Lumps, thickening, or rough spots
- Difficulty chewing, swallowing, or speaking
- Numbness or unexplained pain in the mouth or lips

⚠️ Risk factors include:
- To***co use (smoking or chewing)
- Heavy alcohol consumption
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
- Excessive sun exposure (for lip cancer)

🪥 What you can do:
- Schedule regular dental check-ups — screenings are quick and painless
- Perform self-checks at home
- Maintain good oral hygiene
- Avoid to***co and limit alcohol

Your dental team does more than care for your teeth — we also screen for signs of oral cancer at every exam. Early detection can save lives.

If you notice anything unusual, don’t wait. Get checked. Call us for an appointment!
