Rating your kid’s candy haul by Nicole! 🎃🍬

Our Dental Hygienist Nicole rated the bag, from least worst to absolute worst 👇

🟢 Plain chocolate: the least worst! It rinses off teeth more easily and doesn’t get stuck. Dark chocolate is even better if they’ll eat it.

🟡 Twix: okay, but that caramel sticks. Brush afterwards!

🟠 Blow Pops: nope. Biting down on the hard candy can crack a tooth, and the gum gets stuck in there.

🔴 Sour Patch Kids: the absolute worst (and secretly one of her favorites 😅). Sticky AND acidic, which is tough on tooth enamel.

Are You Doing Any of These to Your Teeth Without Realizing It? 🤔

Dr. Grace Garcia shares 3 everyday habits she would never do, and why 👇

1️⃣ Opening bottles or packages with your front teeth. They aren’t built for that kind of force, and over time it can lead to chips, cracks, and enamel damage.

2️⃣ Chewing ice. It’s very, very hard, and it’s especially tough on your back teeth.

3️⃣ Brushing right after orange juice or other acidic drinks. Acid softens your enamel for a while, so scrubbing right away can wear it down. Give it some time before you brush.

Not every office that says "mercury free" is mercury safe. There is a
difference, and it matters most on the day your old fillings come out. 🦷

Mercury free means we do not place new amalgam fillings.

Mercury safe means we follow a strict protocol when we take out the ones
you already have.

That distinction exists because drilling is the single biggest release
there is. Removed the ordinary way, an old filling can expose you to more
than leaving it alone would. The protocol is the entire point.

Dr. Theresa Rodeghero trained through the International Academy of Oral
Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), and every amalgam removal here follows
that protocol:

🦷 Rubber dam isolation with high speed suction
🦷 The filling sectioned out in large pieces instead of drilled into dust
🦷 A mercury v***r collector running the entire time
🦷 Nose pieces supplying clean breathing air

What goes back in matters too. Patients who react to multiple materials
can have a biocompatibility test to identify what their body tolerates.
Our office is entirely latex free, and we do not use fluoride.
