Today we celebrated Michelle. For nearly 16 years she has been such a joy to work beside. Not only is she a great hygienist but she makes every patient feel special. Years ago, she took on breast cancer like a warrior and has had so many open conversations with patients going through similar battles. When she came to me a few weeks ago to tell me she had always wanted to obtain a Bachelor’s degree and had been drawn to apply to nursing school, my first thought was panic. I couldn’t imagine losing her. But my next (less emotional) response was pride. Of course she wants to challenge herself and use her own health battles to help others in a way that her corner room can no longer provide. She is going to rock this! We are so sad but so proud of her! And although its HUGE shoes to fill we feel confident that we’ve found the right person.
Today we had lunch with gifts, laughs and a few tears. Tomorrow will be hard but we will get through knowing our bond is way stronger than how we make a living. We love you Michelle. Go be great!

We had to recreate this picture. 15 years ago this week we took this picture announcing these new faces to our team. Chastity and Michelle have been such a blessing to our practice. Not only are they exceptional hygienists but also take genuine interest in their patients. Apparently they also have access to the fountain of youth because they haven’t changed at all!
