She grew up in Chicago and loves taking care of patients in her hometown. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, and The Ohio State College of Dentistry with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. From there she went on to receive a Certification in Cosmetic Dentistry from Case Western Reserve in Ohio, to enhance her expertise in creating ma

gnificent smiles. Prior to establishing So-Well Dental Associates 28 years ago, she had a hospital based private practice at Doctor’s Hospital of Hyde Park (formerly Hyde Park Hospital) for six years. She provided treatment and care for hospital patients, staff, doctors, and private patients. She was also a dental provider for local nursing homes and homebound community residents. Dr. Sowell has a kind heart for serving and giving back to the community. She is a featured motivational and business speaker in Chicago. She is also involved in the CHAMPS program, mentoring youth and young adults wanting to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. She has also been involved in many years of Dental Missions overseas. In her free time, she enjoys travel and meeting people from all walks of life. Dr. Sowell is a member of the National Dental Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
