If dentistry no longer feels as fulfilling as you once imagined, there may be another way to practice.

During my 44 years in dentistry, I moved toward a relationship-based, fee-for-service, insurance-free model with an integrative whole-health approach.

That change gave me more time to know my patients, greater clinical freedom to do what I believed was right, no insurance-related stress and bureaucracy, and the opportunity to consider the whole person—not simply the tooth.

If we want to build an insurance-free, fee-for-service, relationship-based practice, the patient’s experience must be meaningfully differentiated at every step.

We cannot ask patients to choose us—and invest more in their care—while giving them the same experience they can receive anywhere else.

I created Tarantola Dental Learning to show dentists the practical systems I used to build this kind of practice.
