Told you need a crown? Here’s what you should get to see first.

A traditional crown means shaving the whole tooth down so a cap fits over it. We take a different approach. We replace only what’s broken. Even when a tooth needs all its cusps covered, we use a bonded onlay that keeps the healthy parts of your tooth instead of cutting them away.

We show you what we’re looking at, walk you through your options, and decide together. Most of our onlays are done same day, so no temporary and no second visit.

The eyes only see what the brain already knows.

Look up at the night sky and you see stars. Go out with an astronomer and suddenly you see constellations. Planets. Satellites moving across the sky. The International Space Station. It was all there the whole time. You just didn't know what you were looking at.

Your mouth is the same way.

At your exam, we take photos to see how your teeth fit with your face. We do a head and neck exam. We look at your jaw joint and how your bite comes together. We check and measure your gum health. We take close-up photos of every tooth to explain to you and monitor them going forward.

We want to know you. What's important to you. What your goals are. What time and budget you're working with. Great care fits the person, not just the tooth.

Then we sit down and take you on a tour of your mouth and health. We go through everything with you. The photos. What we found. What it means. You ask questions. We answer them. No rush.

The best part is watching it click. Patients see something about their own health that no one ever showed them before.

Cracked tooth doesn't mean a traditional crown.

This patient came in with the classic zing, a sharp pain on biting, and a visible crack on the back of the tooth.

The traditional plan? Root canal, post, core, and crown. It's often done pre-emptively for a cracked tooth, and it means grinding the entire tooth down, healthy structure and all.

When we looked closer, the damage was limited to the crack, with plenty of healthy tooth structure remaining. No root canal needed. So we did a bonded overlay instead. We removed only what was broken and preserved the healthy tooth and the nerve underneath. Stronger, more conservative, and far less invasive.

Research consistently shows the more healthy tooth structure you keep, the stronger the tooth stays.

Saving tooth structure is always the goal. If you've been told you need a root canal and crown, a second opinion is worth it.

Your dentist wants to do a root canal on a tooth that has never hurt you. Stop. Do not book it yet.

Here is the part most people never hear. A deep cavity and a dead nerve are not the same thing. Sometimes a tooth needs a root canal even without pain, and we treat that when it is real. But sometimes the root canal gets recommended on reflex. The cavity looks deep, so the nerve gets written off before anyone checks if it can still be saved.

There is another path. We can remove the decay carefully, seal the tooth, and give the nerve a chance to live. No root canal. No crown. The tooth stays yours.
So the question to ask is simple. Is my nerve actually damaged beyond saving, or can we try to keep it alive first.

Because once the nerve is gone, it is gone. There is no putting it back.
A root canal is sometimes the right answer. It should be the answer after that question, not before it.

Did your dentist tell you that you need a crown? Before you say yes, watch this.

A traditional crown means grinding down a lot of healthy tooth to cap it. Sometimes that's the right call. But a lot of the time, there's another way.

We start by asking what's actually still healthy. Where's the crack? Which cusp is broken? How much sound tooth is left? Sometimes the answer is a bonded composite with no crown at all. Sometimes it's an onlay that only covers the damaged part. And sometimes the tooth does need full coverage. But even then, we don't default to grinding all the enamel down to the gumline the way the old method does.

The principle is simple: replace what's broken, preserve what's healthy, and match the material to what the tooth actually needs.

The same tooth, treated by two different dentists, can end up with two very different restorations. You deserve to know which one you're getting.

Lost a front tooth? Here’s something most patients have never been offered.�
If you need an implant, there’s usually a healing period of several months before the final tooth goes in. During that time, most dentists give you a flipper or a clear retainer with a fake tooth. Both of which come in and out, and both of which people genuinely hate wearing.�
We do it differently. Using a Maryland bridge, we bond a tooth into place the same day or right after your surgery. Nothing to take out. Looks real. Feels real. You walk around with a full smile while your implant heals underneath.�
And because we have a Fotona laser, we can precisely un-bond it when you’re ready for the final implant or restoration there is no damage to your natural teeth.�
The part I don’t usually lead with: I have two of these in my own mouth. I don’t have enough bone to hold an implant, and I don’t have the time right now for bone grafting surgeries. So I wear what I recommend and it’s the best decision I’ve made for my smile.�
