I was very happy to host Dr. Cartoon Buddhathida from Thailand today and give her a tour of the UI Health Craniofacial Center. As the second oldest (arguably) Craniofacial center in the United States and "THE" center where Sam Pruzansky introduced the concept of interdisciplinary care, it is just such a special place I love to share our story with others who serve the public and make it their mission to improve the lives of those afflicted with various Craniofacial issues. Little did I know that she knows more people than I do! Yeah 5 minutes in we realized that she knew Natalie our speech pathologist from University of Michigan! The Craniofacial world is just a small place on a global stage. Anyways She is in for the week with her residents from Thailand doing a week of bioprogressive mechanics with the Ortho department and then off to the AAO where you guess it I will see her again! , .

So excited to be in Frisco, Texas to hang out with some friends and have a very fun discussion of how 1 little company, OrthoFX is actually showing the world that there is a better way to make clear aligners! Remember, once upon a time nobody knew what Tesla was. Just because it has never been done doe not mean that it is not possible. Come and learn what compliant friendly clear aligners therapy means. 🚑🦷 Handling Orthodontic Emergencies: Quick Guide! 🩺🌟

Facing an orthodontic emergency? Stay calm and follow these steps to ensure your comfort and safety:

Loose Bracket or Band: If a bracket or band becomes loose but is still attached to the wire, leave it in place. Cover it with orthodontic wax to prevent irritation.

Poking Wire: If a wire is poking your cheek or gum, try gently pushing it back into place using a cotton swab. If that doesn't work, use orthodontic wax to cover the sharp end.

Soreness: It's common to experience soreness after adjustments. Rinse your mouth with warm saltwater and take over-the-counter pain relievers as directed.

Lost Separator: If a separator falls out, let your orthodontist know. They'll advise if it needs to be replaced.

Swallowed Appliance: If you accidentally swallow a piece of your appliance, contact your orthodontist or seek medical help if necessary.

Trauma: In case of a traumatic injury to your mouth, teeth, or face, seek medical attention immediately. Contact your orthodontist afterward.

Remember, your orthodontist is your best resource for handling emergencies. If you're unsure or concerned, reach out to them for guidance. Stay safe and prioritize your comfort throughout your orthodontic journey!
