The Tooth Fairy as we know her today didn't become popular in the United States until the early 1900s, but long before she was sneaking money under pillows, many cultures around the world were partaking in their own unique traditions. In some countries, families bury baby teeth under trees to increase the chances their adult teeth grow in with strong roots, while in others they toss them onto rooftops or the floor depending on if they're lost from the top or bottom of the mouth. Still others throw the lost tooth into the sky in hopes the sun will exchange it for an adult tooth.
However you celebrate, here's to healthy smiles and a little bit of magic. 🧚✨ Happy National Tooth Fairy Day! ✨🦷
