Permasmile Response to COVID-19

As of Tuesday, March 17, Permasmile is following mandates by the Virginia Governor and the Virginia Dental Board which direct postponing any non-emergency care and dental treatments.

Dentists remain one of the highest categories to contract the disease as routine procedures contain the potential of transmitting COVID-19 via aerosolization of fluids.

We apologize to our patients for this inconvenience. Our office will resume normal business hours as soon as we are able.

Maintain healthy routines.

Wearing pajamas all day? Forgetting what day it is? Over-eating and over-snacking? You are not alone. Our new normal is crazy! So, we’ve compiled a few tips for maintaining healthy routines during the COVID-19 stay at home order.

• Get up and move! Keep a going-to-school / work mindset – Shower! Get Dressed! Fix your hair! And … eat a good breakfast!

• Eat Well – Be Well. Time is on your side for once – plan healthier meals and snack smart.

• Water is our friend! Remember to stay hydrated and WASH YOUR HANDS regularly.

• Seek opportunities to stay active – Walk, Power-vacuum, ride your bike, scrub the shower!

• Have fun and be creative – Play a game, start AND finish a puzzle! Get artsy – try a new craft.

• Schedule connections with Zoom, Skype, or Facetime your friends – it’s good to hear and SEE the smiles of others.

• Get your rest – try to avoid late nights and movie marathons that result in sleeping until noon.

• And, if and when you must shop for essentials, keep outings as short as possible. Wear a mask and keep 6-foot distance from others.

Everyone has a lot on their minds during this challenging period, we are hopeful you will find some of our suggestions useful.
