Stop the Bleed teaches lifesaving skills to help people recognize and respond to severe bleeding emergencies before professional help arrives. Participants learn how to apply pressure, pack wounds, and use tourniquets to help save lives.

Chesapeake Care recently hosted a special Board Social on May 7th to celebrate the extraordinary leadership and dedication of several long-serving board members.

Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to David Bowman, Connie White, Mike Corcoran, and Tim Garrett for their combined 77 years of service to Chesapeake Care. Each honoree was recognized for their leadership, financial stewardship, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to strengthening the Clinic and supporting the community. Their spouses were also acknowledged for the support and encouragement they provided throughout the years.

The evening also included special recognition of Dourina Petersen for 30 years of service to Chesapeake Care. Since becoming Executive Director in 2016, Dourina’s leadership has helped strengthen the Clinic’s foundation, stabilize finances, and expand compassionate care to thousands of patients throughout the community.

The celebration concluded with remarks from Board President Sharon Stull and a heartfelt reflection on the lasting legacy of service left by those honored during the evening.

Grateful for today, remembering those who made it possible. ❤️🤍💙
