Dr. Bryson & Dr. Colton are racing marathon canoe in The Ski To Sea Race this Sunday!

Dr. B and Dr. C have been training together for the past 6 months through the cold winter months, late at night and early in the morning not to interfere with patient care and family time.

They will be racing for Yeager’s Sporting Goods Team 18 miles down the Nooksack River near Bellingham, WA.

There are 500 teams in this Multi Sport Relay Race that begins on Mount Baker and finishes in Bellingham Bay!

Team Popp had a fun weekend race at the Thief Neck Island Paddle Quest Duo hosted by !

Saturday morning, they participated in a 10 mile race.
Dr Colton finished 2nd in Men’s Surfski, Dr Bryson finished 2nd in Men’s OC-1, and Dr Tom (and Sassy) finished 3rd in Men’s Kayak.

Saturday afternoon, Dr Bryson and Dr Lindsey teamed up in an outrigger canoe and finished 2nd in Mixed OC-2. Dr Colton teamed up with and they won the Men’s Kayak division by a sprint out at the finish!

It can be a little scary going to the dentist for the first few times, but at Team Popp we do everything that we can to make our little patients comfortable in the new environment!
Landon was a little hesitant to get his teeth cleaned (and this was his third time!) but Lesley and Dr. C showed him and explained to him each and every step and he did great and had a very positive experience!
Obtaining these micro-victories at the dentist can lead to a great experience at the dentist for a lifetime!

Little dude did great for his first visit to the dentist!

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a visit to the dentist by the child’s first birthday or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting.

Main reasons for the visit are Education/Prevention:
1) Cavity risk assessment and cavity prevention
2) Parental education on Oral hygiene, Fluoride, Diet, and Feeding habits
3) Early detection of dental/oral problems
4) Guidance on habits, such as thumb sucking or pacifier use
5) Injury Prevention and Establishing a Dental Home to call in case of a dental emergency

MEET YOUR DENTIST
Dr. Colton Popp is a Chattanooga Pediatric Dentist that grew up here in Chattanooga and is proud to have taken care of Chattanooga families since 2018!
He went to thebrightschool , baylorschool , and utchattanooga .
While at UTC, he ran cross country and track, he was in the utcsigmachi fraternity, he coached middle school and high school cross country and wrestling, he raced all over the world for usawildwater , and he was a registered dental assistant for Orthodontics By Design.
Through coaching, Dr. Colton knew that he had a passion for taking care of and mentoring children.
Dr. C attended uthscdentistry for dental school and for his pediatric specialty certificate.
Dr. Popp is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who has two locations: Hixson Pike/North Chatt and Gunbarrel Road.
He also has privileges at childrensaterlanger and has been the Pediatric Dentist on Erlanger’s Craniofacial Cleft Lip and Palate Team since 2019.
His hobbies include kayaking/canoeing, running, snow skiiing, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and boys!
